Grain-Free Satin Balls Recipe for Dogs (Greek Yogurt Version)

This grain-free Satin Ball recipe for dogs is a vet-approved, high-calorie supplement designed to help underweight or high-energy dogs gain healthy weight. Made with ground beef, Greek yogurt, coconut oil, molasses, eggs, and gelatin, this version skips grains and cream cheese, keeping it simple, nutrient-dense, and easier to digest. Ingredients
  

  • 10 pounds 4.5 kg raw ground beef, 70/30 or 80/20 fat content
  • 4 cups 32 oz or 900 g plain full-fat Greek yogurt (unsweetened, no xylitol)
  • 1 1/4 cups 300 ml olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups 360 ml, ~510 g unsulfured molasses
  • 10 large raw eggs with finely crushed shells (optional for calcium)
  • 10 envelopes unflavored gelatin about 1/2 cup or 50 g total
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt a pinch

Method

  2. Place the ground beef in a large mixing tub or bowl.
  3. Add Greek yogurt, olive oil, molasses, eggs, gelatin, and salt.
  4. Mix thoroughly by hand until everything is well blended.
  5. Form into golf-ball sized meatballs (about 2–3 oz each).
  6. Freeze on trays lined with parchment paper.
  7. Transfer to freezer bags and store up to 3 months. Thaw before serving.

 Calories per Satin Ball If divided into 60 balls (2.7 oz each) → ≈ 270 calories per ball If divided into 40 balls (4 oz each) → ≈ 405 calories per ball.
